These are challenging times for women and their families. First, the economy – and the Republican focus on targeting programs that disproportionately impact women, like Social Security and Medicare. Then came this “war on women” – from Republicans in Washington trying to destroy Planned Parenthood and give your boss the right to decide if you get birth control coverage to angry right-wing mouthpieces like Rush Limbaugh insulting good women for wanting decent healthcare and privacy. I can’t believe what I’m hearing. And it’s made me more determined than ever to elect Tulsi Gabbard to Congress.
You can read more about Tulsi’s story of accomplishment and effectiveness here. We know that she is the leader to bring a fresh perspective and new leadership to DC for a brighter future.
But she cannot get there without our help. As women, we know this – we’ve seen this before. We need to stand strong with her so Tulsi can stand strong for us in Congress. I am 100% committed to doing everything I can to help my friend Tulsi in her campaign, and I hope you’ll join other women like Dr. Nancie Caraway, Dr. Amy Agbayani, and Ann Kobayashi and become a member of Women For Tulsi.
I know how busy we all are. And there are so many things that, as women, need our attention. But I keep thinking about that hearing – that hearing in Congress with only a few women on the committee, and exactly ZERO women testifying – about whether women have the right to have birth control covered! I know Tulsi will lead for us in Congress and that’s why I’m rolling up my sleeves and getting to work on Women for Tulsi. I genuinely hope, for our sake, for our mothers’ and our daughters’ sakes, that you will join me.
